World Champions turns a football tournament into a five-reel slot, with animal mascots competing for the Golden Trophy. Ten fixed paylines keep the action familiar: matching symbols pay across adjacent reels from left to right, while the trophy can help a line or open the free-spin round.
Quick take: The Golden Trophy doubles as a Wild and Scatter, leading to free spins with expanding symbols.
Theme and Gameplay
The tournament setting gives the reels a clear central prize to follow. Animal mascots bring the teams into the game, while the Golden Trophy stands out as the symbol that can affect both an ordinary line and the bonus. On regular spins, keep an eye on trophy positions as well as whether matching symbols connect across the paylines.
Slot Features
Three or more Golden Trophies start free spins. At the beginning of the round, one regular symbol is selected to expand across the reels, giving that symbol more presence in the feature. Further trophies can retrigger the round, adding spins and more expanding symbols. The same trophy therefore has two jobs: it substitutes for regular symbols as a Wild, and it advances the bonus when enough appear.
Feature focus: In free spins, watch which regular symbol is selected to expand, then see whether additional trophies add more expanding symbols to the round.
RTP and Win Potential
World Champions lists a 94% RTP, very high volatility and a 5,000x maximum win. The ceiling gives the bonus room to produce a large result, but the very high volatility points to uneven returns along the way. The published base-game RTP is the useful figure for the ordinary game.
My Thoughts On This Slot
The trophy's dual role makes the feature easy to follow from the base game: it can help complete a line, and a group of them can send play into free spins. Expanding symbols give those spins a distinct change in rhythm, especially when retriggers add more symbols to the mix.
The familiar paylines make the game approachable, but the very high volatility may not suit someone looking for steady, frequent returns. World Champions should appeal to players who enjoy a straightforward football-themed slot with a bonus that builds through visible symbol changes.
Final Take: A clear tournament slot built around one memorable symbol and expanding-symbol free spins.
