Chicken Arena drops you onto the sand of a packed Roman colosseum, red banners flapping above the crowd. The emperor himself perches on the stone balcony overhead: a rooster in golden armour and a scarlet cape, surveying the 7×7 battleground below. I stepped into the arena with 5,000 in cash and a 1.00 bet.
Theme and Gameplay
Thunderkick’s sense of humour shines through. The standout symbol is a snarling fox gladiator, the arena’s villain, joined by crossed swords, green laurel wreaths and a roasted drumstick. Bronze and silver coins stamped with an ear of wheat cover the modest payouts, while a gold medallion marked Bonus triggers the feature.
Chunky red buttons line the foot of the screen: autoplay, bet and Buy Feature, with a big spin button on the right. A Bet+ toggle sits just above it.
Slot Features
Any group of five or more identical symbols linked side by side or top to bottom pays out. Winning symbols vanish and the rest drop down in an Avalanche, potentially chaining several wins together. Wilds cover every regular symbol, and when several multipliers join one cluster their values are summed.
The Mystery Rooster can strike on any spin or avalanche, during regular play or the feature, and places an x100 wild multiplier on a random free position.
A trio of scatters opens 10 free spins. Mid-round, two scatters add three more spins and three add ten. Golden Eggs are collected from winning symbols, or all together when a scatter lands. At 10, 20, 30 and 40 eggs, you earn two extra spins and one more guaranteed wild multiplier on every remaining spin. Reaching 40 eggs unlocks an x50 wild multiplier on every win, with all four chick wild multipliers guaranteed until the final spin.
RTP and Win Potential
Standard play returns 94.3%, slightly below the norm, and no round can pay more than 10,000x your bet.
Bet+ modes make each spin two or five times more likely to trigger the bonus, while Buy Feature jumps directly into the bonus. With multiplier wilds as large as x100, expect high volatility.
My Thoughts On This Slot
This is a fun, polished release. The 7×7 grid gives the avalanches plenty of room, the Mystery Rooster can rescue a quiet spin out of nowhere, and the egg system means the free spins have a real sense of progression. The fox-versus-rooster art is full of character.
The RTP is on the low side for a modern slot, and the bonus does rely on reaching the egg milestones to really take off.
