Deep Feast takes place on the ocean floor, inside the bleached ribcage of some enormous sea creature. A wide-mouthed blue anglerfish, its glowing lure dangling overhead, grins from the left near a brass porthole, and a hermit crab and a pink starfish shuffle along the bones at the bottom. The cartoon style keeps it more cheeky than creepy. I played at 1.00 a spin with 1,000 in the balance.
Theme and Gameplay
The sea-floor treasures make up the pay table: a brass diving helmet, a giant clam with a pearl, a spiral nautilus shell and a big red crab claw. Rounded letters from 10 to A in soft blues, greens, purples and oranges fill the gaps. A bell marked Bonus works as the scatter, and a little spellbook icon on the left opens the feature menu.
Lining up three or more identical icons from reel 1 rightwards pays. Every matching position adds to the 3,125 ways, and the values of multiple ways add together.
Slot Features
The leviathan is the wild and stands in for every symbol bar the scatter. He arrives as a single block, and the bigger he is, the higher his multiplier, so a large leviathan both covers more of the grid and boosts the win he’s part of. If more than one wild joins a winning way, the highest multiplier is used.
Feeding Frenzy gives 5 free spins, during which the leviathan swims around the board and can grow. Deep Feast gives 6 free spins with a multiplier that never drops. Extra bell scatters during either round add one spin each.
For a cost, the menu opens up extra modes. Extra Chance doubles the stake to make leviathans far more common and features more likely, while the Boosted and Epic modes act like an ante that seats a big wild on every spin. A Bonus Hunt mode can also unlock the rare Abyss bonus, which starts the leviathan at 3×3 for 6 free spins.
RTP and Win Potential
The maximum payout is 31,250x your bet, and it can be reached from every mode in the game, including naturally triggered free spins.
With so much riding on one growing wild, expect high volatility: plenty of quiet spins, then a handful of moments where the leviathan takes over the board.
My Thoughts On This Slot
I liked the underwater humour here. The anglerfish has plenty of character, and the idea that the wild’s size is its multiplier is easy to grasp at a glance. The Abyss bonus gives Bonus Hunt players something rare to chase.
That said, the various modes take some reading before they make sense, and like most games built on a single big feature, the base game can run cold for a while.
