Polymarket Supply Chain Hack 2026: $2.7M Drained From Traders

Polymarket Supply Chain Hack 2026 is the latest security scare for crypto traders. On Thursday, October 29, attackers drained about $2.7 million from Polymarket accounts. Bubblemaps estimates that roughly 700 users lost funds. However, Polymarket has not confirmed the exact number of victims or the total loss.

Polymarket Supply Chain Hack 2026: How The Attack Worked

The attackers never broke into Polymarket directly. Instead, they tampered with a piece of JavaScript that loaded on the real Polymarket website. The script came from DebugBear, a UK company that monitors website speed.

Security firm Hudson Rock found the modified script on DebugBear servers. According to BleepingComputer, the code checked each logged-in trader’s balance and open positions. Then it sold those positions and moved the funds to a wallet the attacker controlled. As a result, victims lost money without clicking a phishing link or sharing a password.

BleepingComputer traced about $2.57 million in Polygon POL tokens out of a central wallet. The funds then moved across three separate addresses. Meanwhile, Polymarket switched its international exchange to cancel-only mode at 2:05 p.m. ET. Normal trading resumed about an hour later.

Only Polymarket.com, the international crypto exchange, took the hit. In contrast, Polymarket US runs separately and saw no impact.

Why It Matters For Players

This attack shows a hard truth about crypto platforms. A site can be secure and still fail through one of its vendors. Furthermore, this is the second supply-chain breach at Polymarket in four months. In June, a different vendor compromise drained roughly $3 million from user wallets.

Polymarket says it referred the case to law enforcement. The company also promised to make every affected user whole. Per CNBC, traders who lost less than $10,000 should see funds restored by Friday, October 30. Larger losses require a signed release agreement first.

DebugBear also confirmed the incident. It told customers to remove its monitoring snippet from their websites right away.

Casino Bonus Streak Perspective

We like crypto gaming, but security must come first. Never leave a large balance sitting on any platform. Withdraw winnings often, and keep most funds in a wallet you control. Additionally, log out when you finish a session, since this script targeted active logins.
