Finland iGaming Licensees 2026: First 18 Operators Get Approval

Finland iGaming Licensees 2026 now have names. The National Police Board has confirmed the first 18 companies with online gambling licences. Those licences take effect on July 1, 2027. That is also the day the new market opens.

Finland iGaming Licensees 2026: Who Made The List

The list includes Hippos ATG Oy and SuomiVeto Oy. It also includes Amber Entertainment Finland, Benelongs, Buccone Trading, and Cloudberry Ent. Other names are Granturo Finland, KuuFlip, Nivei Ursi, UnionJack, and Pot Luck Club. RocketLily Ent, Roi Roger, SixthSpin, Skill On Net, Sunflower Gaming, Stare Straight, and YTBlue round out the group.

However, the licence holders have not yet confirmed their brands or domains. Many are holding companies behind familiar casino names. Therefore, players will learn the brand list closer to launch.

The Board is still working through 63 more applications. It estimates six to eight months of processing time for each one. Senior adviser Juho Puisto says most applicants are foreign companies. Furthermore, a single application can run to hundreds of pages.

Why It Matters For Players

Finland has long run gambling as a state monopoly through Veikkaus. The new system opens online casino and betting to licensed private operators. As a result, Finnish players will soon have many more legal choices.

Licensing brings real protections. Licensed operators must follow local rules on safer gambling, marketing, and player funds. In contrast, unlicensed offshore sites offer little help when a dispute arises.

The change also affects marketing. Offshore brands have targeted Finnish players for years without a local licence. Once the market opens, regulators can act against unlicensed sites more directly. In addition, payment blocking and advertising limits often follow a new licensing regime. Therefore, players may see fewer offshore ads and more local brands in 2027.

Oversight will also change hands. The National Police Board grants licences until the end of June 2027. After that, the new Finnish Supervisory Agency takes charge. Additionally, suppliers are lining up to serve the market. Altenar, for example, has already agreed to power a sportsbook there.

Casino Bonus Streak Perspective

We welcome new regulated markets. They give players clear rules and real recourse. Still, a new market often starts with heavy promotions. Read the terms carefully, because local rules may cap bonuses.

Until the market opens, compare trusted brands on our list of the best casino bonuses. Our guide to fast payout casinos also shows which operators pay out quickly. Both lists can help you shortlist sites once Finnish brands go live.
