New York Betting Handle 2026 figures hit another high mark. Sportsbooks took $619.4 million in the week ending October 4. That total covers NFL Week 4. It ranks as the fourth-largest week in state history.
New York Betting Handle 2026: The Week 4 Numbers
This marks the second $600 million week of the NFL season. Handle rose 8% from the prior week. It also rose 12.5% from the same week in 2025. Last year, New York did not reach $600 million until late October.
Eight online operators won $49.2 million in gross revenue. That equals a 7.9% hold. Furthermore, it was the biggest weekly gross since the World Cup ended in July. Still, no week has reached a double-digit hold since mid-August.
Here is how the operators performed:
- FanDuel: $228.2 million handle, $23.6 million revenue, hold above 10%
- DraftKings: over $200 million handle, 6.4% hold, $13.8 million revenue
- Fanatics: $70 million handle, 7% hold
- Caesars: $44.6 million handle, 4.9% hold
- BetMGM: $38.1 million handle, 7% hold
- BetRivers: $13.6 million handle, 7.8% hold
Additionally, theScore Bet took $7.7 million and Bally Bet took $3.2 million.
Why It Matters For Players
High handle shows strong demand. However, hold tells the real story for bettors. A low hold means players kept more of their money that week.
FanDuel stood out. It was the only operator above a 10% hold. As a result, it posted its largest revenue in 11 weeks. In contrast, DraftKings revenue fell from $18.1 million the week before.
Fanatics also deserves a look. It posted its best week since late August. Therefore, its heavy marketing push seems to reach more New York bettors.
Meanwhile, Caesars posted the lowest hold among the larger brands at 4.9%. In other words, its customers won back more of their stakes than most. Similarly, theScore Bet ran a 9.9% hold on a much smaller handle. Hold swings like these often depend on a few NFL upsets.
Also, remember that New York carries a high tax rate on sportsbook revenue. As a result, operators there often offer fewer free bets than in other states. Still, the weekly totals keep growing.
